As a business strategy and communications consultant for more than 20 years, Catherine has been involved in key initiatives for corporations in the diagnostics, health care, manufacturing, and financial services industries.
Catherine played an important role within the communications team of a major retail pharmaceuticals merger, creating strategy, training materials and messaging to help employees understand and embrace the newly formed company. She was an instrumental member of the communications team that navigated a diagnostics company with operations in 42 countries through a pre-packaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This successful venture resulted in no loss of employees, customers or suppliers, and ultimately, the sale of the company for $7 billion. When approached by a major cancer hospital in Illinois with a desire to attract more regional patients, Catherine led a marketing research study to compare brand messaging and service delivery mechanisms of the area’s five major cancer centers. Previously, Catherine worked for Allstate Insurance Company, where she led a number of significant change management and communications initiatives. She worked closely with the insurer’s legal and finance teams to manage the transition of the company’s legacy sales force from employees to independent exclusive contractors. She also led a national rebranding effort for the major insurer.
Catherine is an active public speaker and community leader and is well known for her efforts to advance childhood literacy through nonprofit organizations.
