Steven Sprouse is a seasoned communications professional specializing in strategic internal communications, employee engagement, and employer brand and event activations. Through his experiences working across a variety of industries, he brings a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and quickly understands the communications challenges between employees and organizations to drive meaningful engagement, enhance organizational connectivity across diverse teams, and help employees at all levels succeed through thoughtful and clear communications. Before joining Gagen MacDonald, Steven held leadership roles in a variety of organizations. At 2U, Inc., he worked closely with leaders and stakeholders to develop and execute global employee communications, managed high-profile policy change and employee and systems integrations, and spearheaded the company’s employer brand and events strategies. His previous role at CoStar Group saw him leading public relations efforts and managing communications for over 4,600 global employees, contributing significantly to increased leadership presence and transparency, as well as employee alignment with company goals. He developed a rich understanding of both creative strategy and internal corporate messaging through roles in public education, telecommunications, associations, and edtech, in addition to working with clients at a creative agency specializing in live event brand storytelling.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Science degree in TV/Radio Communication from Ithaca College, where he graduated magna cum laude. His dedication to professional growth is reflected in his SHRM-CP HR certification and multiple awards, including 2U’s Annual Employee Award in 2023. Steven’s technical capabilities, combined with his creative problem-solving abilities, make him a key asset in helping clients navigate change with a human-centric approach. In his free time, Steven is an avid tennis fan, a lover of awards shows, pop culture, and live music, and likes to channel his creativity through baking and practicing guitar and piano.
