Let Go & Lead, A community of change-makers

Let Go & Lead is a leadership community created by Maril to bring together provocateurs, pioneers, thought leaders and those leading conversations around culture, transformation and change.

Over the past 13 years, Let Go & Lead has existed in many forms. It began as an interview series (video primarily), shifted to a creative partnership with undergrad communicators from DePaul University, then a formal written blog Q&A series and now to its final format as a YouTube podcast. At its core, it remains a place where people can access a diversity of perspectives on interdisciplinary approaches to leadership. Maril is also working on a book incorporating these insights gathered over her more than 120 interviews with global leaders and change-makers. Over time, Let Go & Lead's platform has evolved.

From these conversations, the Let Go & Lead framework has emerged. It is both a personal and organizational resource that aims to serve the individual leader or leadership at scale.

Maril's first official interview, in July of 2012, was Bruce Mau — a world-leading visionary and innovator who has collaborated with some of the world’s leading artists, institutions and businesses to further education and human development. He discussed with Maril the concept of Leadership as a design methodology.

In its twelfth season, the most recent episode spotlights Sally Jenkins — a renowned sports journalist, author and the first women to be inducted into the National Sports Writers and Sportscasters Hall of Fame. Sally and Maril discuss the seven factors of high-performing leaders. Sally was such an inspiring guest to cap this current season off with.
